Choosing the filling of a duvet –

If you are going to a king duvet, you should choose the filling carefully. Those duvets that have natural fillings are soft, light and comfortable – this is because natural fibers help your skin to breathe more comfortably and effectively. Natural fillings also make a duvet more resilient and durable, and generally they last much longer than ones with synthetic fillings. However, if you are allergic to feathers and down, it might be a practical idea to go for synthetic goose down duvet. Also, if your duvet would need frequent washing, then too, you would need to go for synthetic. Professionally laundering is possible for natural filled duvets, but the advantage that synthetic duvets have is that they dry much faster. A good quality natural-filled duvet would last at least 30 years, and a synthetic would last 10 years. Remember that the number of times a duvet is laundered has an overall impact on its lifespan.
